I don't want to read the unedited version but if she isn't going to complete the novel then I will.
On one hand I think she will continue the book because she will probably be offered a huge sum of money, considering the amount of avid fans who were looking forward to it so much and would definately buy it. The fans themselves are another reason to continue - will she really just leave us dissapointed?
On the other hand the fact that she posted the draft on the internet seems like a sign that she has given up. That she no longer cares about Midnight Sun as it is ruined. I personally think this action was not in the best interest of the fans/readers because
1) Dedicated fans would most likely avoid the spoilers in the first place so the book would not be ruined for them. Not all of them would even have known about the spoiler.
2) It takes some of the anticipation and the enthusiasm away from the book (if it does ever come out) because she has given in to the people who spoilt it and provided a spoiler herself.
3) The fans care about and want this book, it is unfair to take it away from them just because somebody else decided to ruin it. It is letting them win.
I think she posted the book on her website so quickly out of anger and unhappiness, it was an irrational thing to do. Stephenie needs to be more resilient, she is one of the most successful authors in the world and must become tougher against both criticsm and people who act against her. It must be very difficult being criticised and then having your work stolen and presented in a way you didn't want it to be but she must take in to account the millions of twilighters out there who love her work more than to give in to spoilers.

i did read it. and i dont regret it because it was amazing. i learned so much about edward. after breaking dawn i kinda hated edward, but midnight sun made me have a whole new respect for him. and i liked seeing what the rest of the cullens thought of it...

basically what i think is that she should either,
1. put all this behind her and publish Midnight Sun. because if she doesnt she will be letting down a whoooole lot of people, and i think i heard that the first chapter of MS is already in some copys of Twilight or the host, and to me that seems wrong to tease us like that.
or
2. if shes truely not going to publish it then she should just put the rest of it on her website, that would satisfy me.

stephenie meyer im sorry that your book got leaked but dont take it out on us.

i agree with you. though i never hated him, what i read of MS made me think of him differently. he's a lot more... idk, relatable? that's not really the word im looking for, but you know what i mean.
and yes, i think that if she doesn't publish it, there will be a HUGE uproar, and everyone would be really really mad. So she'll either finish and publish it, or just put it all up on the internet.

and yes, i don't think it's cool that someone leaked it on the internet, but a lot of people didnt even read it. i get that she's really mad about it, but i didn't even go looking for it at all. i didn't want to be spoiled. but after she posted it, i decided what the hell and just read it, lol.

I gave in to the temptation of reading the draft. How could i resist a piece of Edward hanging out there in cyber-space without reading it?

I loved it. It was great from his perspective; you could understand so fully how they both felt in each situation like you are not usually able to with most novels.

It's ending made me a little doubtful of SM intentions of how she acted against the spoilers.

Midnight Sun Draft ended just before the chapter everyone is waiting for- most people's favourite scene in Twilight.

I have a sneaking suspicion about where the draft (coincidentally??) ended. Over the past week SM has had lots of press written about her throughout the world, drawing attention to her books. Due to the quite numerous number of fans who didn't like BD - could this be an attempt to get them back onside and keep up momentum for MS, a publicity stunt?

I am unsure whether to feel sympathy for SM or dissapointed with Stephenie's PR team, i would like to know other people's views on this...

ooh, i never thought of that. it seems pretty possible. i mean, it kinda doesnt seem like something she would do, but then again i wouldn't think that she'd put it up on her site either.
that kinda makes me sad, lol

yeahh i think it could be a publicity stunt. that seems logical with all the crap shes getting over breaking dawn. (i personally think she deserves said crap..) but i didnt even think about the meadow scene being the most popular... i liked it but i was more excited to find out what was going on in his head during the portangeles scene, when their eating dinner and all the way up to when bellas talking to jessica about the night. idk that was always my favorite part.

I was also excited about Port Angeles and i was surprised she posted that in the rough draft. I think that it was more exciting from Bella's POV because she was saved by her knight in shining armour just at the right time. He seemed more heroic from her point of view so i preffered it. When Edwrd explains in MS how he saved her it just seems like the logical, normal thing to do for him.

after reading part of the draft that SM gave us, i feel that Edward IS Twilight. Bella's version of the story pales in comparison. his emotions & his thoughts had me enraptured a million times more than Bella's ever did in all four books. i think SM would be making a big mistake by not finishing & publishing Midnight Sun. obviously, NONE of us can really know the degree of hurt she feels of the draft being leaked. we all know her emotional connection & attachment to Edward & Bella's story so my guess is that she was pretty heartbroken. if she does not finish Midnight Sun, we cannot judge her or criticize her for her decision. but i sincerely hope that she does finish it. not only for her fans but for Edward's story to be told cause it's an amazing story. the love he feels for Bella is .. insane. i'm not much of a romantic but Midnight Sun has the potential to make me into one. call me psychotic if you wish, but i've made it a habit to read Midnight Sun & Twilight side-by-side to get the full effect & to everyone who hasn't tried it, PLEASE DO. it makes the story that much more awesome. the ability they have to read each other's expressions & actions is awe inspiring. i loved it. i pray to God that SM finishes the book. she has an amazing talent & i feel personally robbed of the full Twilight experience cause of whoever leaked Midnight Sun.
